Allen Earl
It is with great sadness that the family of Allen Earl shares the news of his passing on July 9th at the age of 79. Allen is survived by his brothers Peter (Dea) and Graham (Pat), his daughter Jessica MacDonald and her husband Cully, and his 3 granddaughters Poppy, Georgia and Eleanor. Allen was also a beloved Uncle to Rob, Molly, Tom, Barney and Dan.
Born in Birkenhead in 1945 to Thomas and Marjorie Earl, Allen loved to travel and seek adventure. After completing his electrical apprenticeship at Cammell Lairds, Allen traveled to Scotland and Ireland and also to Cornwall, where he eventually put down roots, but he always maintained strong ties to his friends and family in Merseyside. Throughout his life, his travels took him to all corners of the world, where he made countless friends and memories along the way
An avid fisherman, Allen spent many hours by the water, enjoying the tranquility and challenge of the sport. He almost always had his “binos” on hand to spot the birds above and prided himself on knowing the Latin names of all the British birds. His love for fishing was matched only by his love for his family, particularly his 3 granddaughters, and he enjoyed travelling to them in Virginia, USA, managing to spend some time fishing on the Shenandoah River.
More than his hobbies, Allen had a remarkable ability to make people feel good, leaving a lasting impression with his kindness and humor. His tales from his travels captivated everyone around him, and his hospitality and open door left many people with stories of their own to share.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all.
A celebration of his life will be held on July 19th at 11:30am at the Glynn Valley Crematorium, Bodmin, Cornwall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cornwall Air Ambulance.
