Wendy Shaw
On Monday 14th April, at 2.58pm, our lovely Mum took her final breaths, ending her brave battle with cancer.
Leaving us, her beloved children Kim, Karen, Laura, Katy, Amy, Dan and Lizzie. Also her beloved grandchildren, son-in-laws, and many other family members and friends whose lives she touched.
She showed us yet again what a fighter she is, and where we get our stubbornness from. The doctors gave her weeks to live in February and she battled on, staying with us for a couple more months. She told us she was determined to meet her new grandchildren, and of course she did that. She fought everything that her illness threw at her, and more for good measure.
She will be missed more than words can ever say, but we are relieved that she is at peace and not in pain anymore.
Mum, if pure fight and determination could have saved you, you would have lived forever. It was an honour to be by your side for every step of your journey. You raised seven strong children, we will be here for each other and you will never be forgotten. I’m so sorry we couldn’t win this fight.
Please join us to celebrate our mum’s life at St Columb Major Church on Wednesday 7th May 2025 at 2.00pm, followed by burial at St Columb Major cemetery. Family flowers only. If desired, we’d appreciate donations in her memory towards Marie Curie and Cornwall Hospice Care, both of which looked after mum so well in the final months and weeks of her life. These can be given by retiring collection at the funeral service or online, using the link below.
